
About Phoebe lou
During a windblown March storm in 1939, Phoebe Lou (Baker) Sealy was born in Walters, OK in her grandfather's filling station / grocery store. This wild beginning was to set the stage of a person of many talents.
As a young adult, she traveled extensively through 38 states, went to 8 different schools, and lived in 9 different states by the time she was 11. She graduated from Lawton High School in 1957, attended Cameron College (now known as Cameron University) for one year, and then transferred to the University of Oklahoma (boomer sooner!) where she received a BFA and teaching degree.
Phoebe has a multi-faceted background in acrylic & oil painting, custom jewelry, gift packaging & in-store display, illustrations, photography, stain glass, and limited watercolors. She also has extended studies in Printmaking and Photography from the Kansas City Art Institute and attended graduate school at the University of Oklahoma in Painting and Art History.

Kansas City- 1961-1964
Attended the Kansas City Art Institute night school in photography and printmaking while working for Hallmark Cards designing greeting cards, 3D display party decorations.
In 1964-65, went back to graduate school at University of Oklahoma in art history and painting.
Lawton to Dallas- 1965
Married JimmyWayne Sealy, architect.
Dallas- 1966-1972
Designed corporate ID, gift and industrial packaging at Susan Crane, Inc.
Chicago- 1972-1978
Established a freelance design studio specializing in graphics, gift packaging, in-store displays, and fine art.
Dallas- 1978-present
Moved the studio where she has continued to be involved in all aspects of the arts including State Fair of Texas contest and blue ribbon winners, ART OFF challenges, graphic designs, illustrations, watercolor & pen & ink, acrylic paintings, stain glass, 3 dimensional sculpture, photography, gourd painting, and MORE.
Besides having her own art studio, Phoebe also managed the architecturalist office of her husband Jim. W. Sealy, FAIA consultant, ADA specialist, and architect for just over 55 years.
